Justice (retd) Shivraj Patil has submitted its report to Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal on the appropriateness of procedures adopted by the Department of telecommunications in the issuances of licenses from 2001 to 2009. The one-man panel has identified the officials responsible for lapses in implementation of the 2G licenses policy in a transparent and fair manner.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kapil Sibal said that his ministry will take appropriate action after going through the report. Meanwhile, the former Telecom Minister A Raja was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation yesterday in connection with 2G Spectrum allocation scam. Official sources said that Mr Raja was quizzed for nine hours and details were sought from him about his convesrations with corporate lobbiyst Nira Radia and the reasons of advancing the cut-off date of allocation of the spectrum in 2007.
