7th ECO-Products International Fair and Conference

Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, will be inaugurating the 7th Eco-Products International Fair February 10 (EPIF 2011) . The 3-day (10-12 February) EPIF 2011 is being jointly organized by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India; Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) –Tokyo; National Productivity Council (NPC) – India and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This edition of EPIF revolves around the theme – “Green Productivity for Sustainable Energy and Environment” with a parallel International Conference on the theme.

Eco- Products International Fair is one of the largest international environment exhibitions in Asia and showcases the most advanced environment friendly technologies, products and services that enhance sustainable productivity and competitiveness. EPIF provide opportunities to explore business collaborations and promote awareness of environment friendly products and services.

Shri R P Singh, Secretary (DIPP); Shri Suresh Prabhu, former Minister of Power; Mr. Yukio Kato, Ministry of Environment, Japan and Mr. Yu Murata, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan will also address on the occasion. Other speakers will include delegates from Green Productivity Advisory Committee, Japan; UNDP; UNIDO; GTZ, Germany along with Indian organizations such as Ministry of New & Renewable Energy; Energy Efficiency Services; TERI and Tata Quality Management Services.

About 250 delegates from Asia Pacific region are attending the Conference which aims to address wide ranging concerns and opportunities relating to green productivity through sustainable energy and environment. The Conference will have over 20 presentations during five plenary themes covering sustainable energy and environment, green supply chain, eco-products and green procurement, climate change and low carbon growth and eco-finance and eco-business.
