Asian Grand Prix Archery Championship: Indian archers won 2 gold & silver in team events

Indian archers bagged 2 gold and silver in the team events in 1st Asian Grand Prix Archery Championships at Bangkok on 13th March 2014. Whereas, in the Compound Women’s team event women team defeated Iran to clinch the first gold, 219 to 204. The women compound team included Gagandeep Kaur, V Jyothi Surekha and P Lily Chanu.

In the Men’s Recurve, the team of Jayanta Talukdar, Tarundeep Rai and Kapil won gold after defeating Taipei, 6-0 in set system. Apart from this, the Indian team of Abhishek Verma, Sandeep Kumar and Rajat Chouhan won silver in the Men’s compound section after facing a defeat by Iran, 227 to 232. Recurve women's team lost to Japan in the bronze medal match and completed at the fourth position. The women recurve team included Deepika Kumar, Bombayla Devi and Laxmirai.

1st Asian Archery Grand Prix 2014 (World Ranking) is being organised in Bangkok from 10 March to 16 March 2014. The event has been organised following the World Archery Rules for 2012 in both divisions Recurve and Compound.
