Indian shuttler, Arvind Bhat won the men’s singles German Open Grand Prix title against Danish Hans-Kristian Vittinghus in Mulheim an der Ruhr, Germany on 3rd March 2.Bhat ranked 87th in the world, became the first Indian to win this tournament. Pullela Gopichand is the Indian shuttler, who reached the finals of the Germany Open Grand Prix in 1999 and lost the finals.
Bhat has won six International titles, including the Scottish Open 2004 and the Czech International 2007. Bhat participated in the 2010 Asian games in Guanzhou, China and was in the Indian team for Sudirman Cup 2011.
