Arundhati Bhattacharya takes charges as Chairman of SBI
Arundhati Bhattacharya is has taken over as the chair person of State Bank of India, the largest government sector bank. The bank has a history of 207 years and this is the first time that a woman is taking the responsibilities as a chair person. Bhattacharya is 57 years and she worked as SBI managing director and chief financial officer. Preateep Chowdhury retired as SBI chairman on September 3. Arundhati Bhattacharya replaced him. Allahabad Bank, Bank of India, ICICI bank, Axis Bank and HSBC are also running under women chairmen.
