Ms Universe 2010 winner: Jimena Mavarrete Miss Mexico is Miss Universe 2010. She is just 22 year old and is a well known model in her part of the world.
Mexican beauty Jimena Navarrete crowned Miss Universe on Monday pageant. 22 year old modeling star stunned millions of audience around the globe. Her flowing movements and dazzling performance on the floors of Las Vegas wearing a red gown thrilled the viewers.
Navarrete who has been in modeling since the age of 15, won the title pushing back 83 contestants from different countries. Navarrete, the second Miss Universe to Mexico after Lupita Jones replaced the last year queen Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.
Her talent to look into the world around her was exposed from an impressive response to the question of Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek on Internet supervising by parents. "I do believe that Internet is an indispensable, necessary tool for the present time," Navarrete said, “We must be sure to teach them the values that we learned as a family."
Navarrete also disclosed that she is planning to spend her title year to draw public attention to the plight of people suffering from HIV/AIDS and breast cancer.
Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps came as the first runner-up while Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell won second runner-up title.
The pageant brought an amazing experience for TV viewers while the contesters displayed the very beauty of marvelous national costumes and perfect dancing. The final round of 10 princesses was really electrifying both for competitors and fans who have been tweeting throughout the night.
The prize package for the Miss Univers includes an undisclosed salary, a luxury New York apartment with living expenses, and a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy. Navarrete will get housing after her reign, plus jewelry, clothes and shoes fit for a beauty champion.
