37 Officers of Customs & Central Excise and ED Selected for Presidential Awards

37 officials of the Customs & Central Excise and Enforcement Directorate were selected for Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificate for Specially distinguished record of service for 2013. Every year, certain officers from Customs & Central Excise and Enforcement Directorate departments are kept into consideration to be granted the Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificate which is announced on 26 January, i.e., Republic Day every year.

The award is given away for the specially distinguished record of service to the officials for maintaining their excellence in discharging their duties. 37 officials from the departments were selected on the grounds of exemplary and perfect performances in their services.

The officials selected for the Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificate in 2013 represent different cadres such as Commissioner , Directors, Superintendents, Inspectors and Drivers working in different fields like seizing the smuggled goods, prevention of smuggling of goods and Narcotics Drugs, detection of Foreign Exchange Violations, detecting tax evasion and money laundering cases by booking / arresting the  offenders.

Apart from this, the awardees were also selected for their performance in fields such as development of software for automation at Central Excise formations, streamlining Business Processes for reducing litigations, achieving revenue mobilization, preparing informative web sites for revenue officers, drafting Constitution Amendment Bill for GST and many more.
