Manmohan Singh Visited Bangladesh to Sign the Historic Protocol on Land Boundary Agreement

Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh visited Bangladesh on 6-7 September 2011. During his visit, India and Bangladesh signed several agreements including the Historic Protocol on Land Boundary Agreement. India and Bangladesh also signed the framework agreement on cooperation for development.

During this visit, India and Bangladesh decided to set up a joint commission led by the Minister of Foreign and External Affairs from both sides to coordinate and oversee implementation of various initiatives being taken under the framework agreement. In a 65-point joint statement issued at the end of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's two-day visit to Bangladesh, the two nations underscored the need for concluding and extradition treaty between the two countries expeditiously.
