Sahara Created New World Record of Largest Group to Sing National Anthem at One Place
Sahara India Pariwar created a new Guinness World Record on 6 May 2013 when its 121653 staff and workers sang India’s national anthem Jana Gana Mana in union at Lucknow. The present world record is in the account of Pakistan where 42813 people sang national anthem in a group at one place. Apart from this, Sahara India Pariwar had also attempted the record of more than one million employees singing the national anthem in one uniform at 4512 offices of Sahara spread in India. Sahara came to be recognised on the global map through acquisition of Plaza Hotel in New York and London's Grosvenor House hotel. The representatives of Guinness World Record witnessed the moment and confirmed the word record. Subrata Roy Sahara, the Chairman of Sahara India Pariwar was conferred with the certificate by officials of Guinness Book of World Records.
